MANGALURU:

Delegates from the 'Jai Tulunad' registered organization and various other pro-Tulu organizations met Mangaluru South MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath to submit a memorandum urging that Tulu be officially recognized as an additional administrative language in Karnataka and to advocate for its inclusion in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.

 

Key Demands:

* Pressure on the State Government: Urged the MLA to exert stronger pressure on the state government to officially declare Tulu as an additional administrative language.

* Voice in the Legislative Assembly: Requested that if the government delays fulfilling this demand, a strong voice must be raised on behalf of the Tulu speakers in the upcoming legislative assembly session.

* Inclusion in the 8th Schedule: Demanded the elected representative's complete support in pushing the central government to include Tulu in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.

 

During the meeting, MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath responded positively to the delegation and assured them of his full support for the struggle to gain official recognition and development for the Tulu language. He reiterated his unwavering commitment to the preservation of Tulu culture and language.
