Tulu Language Gains Momentum with New Script Workshop in Naniltaru
The inaugural ceremony of the Bale Tulu Script Workshop, jointly organized by the Kulal Association (R.) Naniltaru Mulladka–Mundkuru and Jai Tulunad (R.) Karkala Unit, was held on the morning of November 9 at the association hall.
The program was presided over by Jayaram Kulal Mulladka, President of the Naniltaru Kulal Association. Kush A. R. Moolya, President of the Belman Kumbanidhi Credit Co-operative Society, inaugurated the workshop and said that such programs play an important role in preserving and promoting the Tulu script.
Uday Poonja Taripadi Guttu, Central Committee President of the Jai Tulunad Organization, attended as the chief guest. He stated that all sections of society should come together for the preservation and growth of the Tulu language and script. He emphasized that people should unite beyond caste boundaries to help make Tulu the state language. He also mentioned that continuous neglect of the Tulu language and region may strengthen the demand for a separate Tulu state.
Among those present were Bogu Moolya Beladi, Warij B. Belman, Kiran Tuluve (Founding Committee Member of the Jai Tulunad Organization), and several office bearers and members of both associations.
Tulu script teachers Nishil Shetty Beladi (Treasurer, Central Committee of Jai Tulunad Organization) and Sharath Raj Kadaba (Mangaluru Unit) inaugurated the workshop by demonstrating Tulu script writing.Mahesh Beladi, Vice President of the Jai Tulunad (R.) Karkala Unit, delivered the introductory address. Dinesh Kumar Belman gave the welcome speech, Harshith Kulal Naniltaru proposed the vote of thanks, and Shrikant Kulal Inna compered the event.
