Kinnigoli: With the noble intention of spreading the fragrance of the Tulu soil and uniting the Tuluvas, the "Tulunada Kesarda Gobbu" (mud sports event) was organized jointly by Taripadi Javanere Kala, Taripadi Ponjovule Kala Kinnigoli, and Jai Tulunad (R.) Kudla Unit. Held on Sunday, July 19, 2026 (Aati 3), the event was conducted on a grand scale and concluded with massive success.

 

During this special Aati month celebration, everyone from young children to elders participated together like one big family, dancing and rejoicing in the mud. Participants joyfully engaged in various traditional rural sports such as:

• Tug of War (Ball'da Birser)

• Mud Running (Kesard Balipuna)

• Thappangayi (A traditional rural sport)

• Breaking the Pot (Kara Darpuna)

• Three-legged Race (Moojikarda Balipu)

 

The immense enthusiasm of the crowd and their deep love for the Tulu soil turned this event into a grand festive celebration.

 

Inauguration and Dignitaries' Participation:

The beautiful event was inaugurated by Sri T. Ramachandra Shetty of Nandini Taripadi Guthu, Sri Kushal Poojary, Mentor of Taripadi Javanere Kala, presided over the function. Smt. Arpitha Prashanth Shetty, Associate Professor at Udupi Group of Educational Institutions, Manipal, hoisted the Tulu flag and officially flagged off the event.
