Mumbai, September 19, 2026: A one-day Tulu script workshop titled “Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka” was conducted in Mumbai on Saturday as part of efforts to promote awareness and learning of the Tulu script.

The workshop was organised by the Jai Tulunad (R.) Mumbai Zonal and was conducted in association with the Bunts Sangha City Region during the Kavi Gosti event.

The workshop began at 3:00 PM and focused on introducing participants to the basics of writing and reading in the Tulu script.

The session was conducted by experienced Tulu script teachers Surekha N. Shetty, Jayalaxmi Shetty, DD Shetty Pejathimar who guided participants through the fundamentals of the script and encouraged greater interest in learning and using it.

The organisers said such workshops play an important role in creating awareness about the Tulu script and encouraging its continued learning and use among the younger generation.

The “Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka” initiative is part of Jai Tulunad (R.)’s efforts to promote Tulu language and script through educational and cultural activities across different regions.
